About Anita Bohbot
Anita Bohbot's lifelong attraction to painting reflects a long family heritage of creativity, which includes fine artists, musicians, and art dealers. Her love of the fantastic was no doubt influenced by a childhood spent in Europe and Africa.
Her frequent travels throughout the western United States and the beauty of its landscapes have triggered her imagination and a deep feeling for the plight of the earth. Ms. Bohbot conveys a mysterious and magnetic power in her paintings.
In a different manner, she also paints memories of her childhood in Morocco—the Berbers in all their splendor, rich costumes and powerful colors. Ms. Bohbot conveys a mysterious and magnetic power in her paintings.
Anita Bohbot took an early interest in painting, and as a teenager, she studied sculpture and drawing. Ms. Bohbot has been exhibited all over the world, including a one-woman show in SoHo, and at the Grand Palais in Paris. She has also exhibited at the Museum of Illustration in New York, in Santa Fe, Montreal, and in numerous shows in the San Francisco Bay Area.
